Telehealth can include video calls, phone calls, or messaging through a secure platform. At Health at Home Consultants, we use these options to make care easy for you. For example, you might have a live video visit to talk face-to-face with our nurse practitioners, or you could send a message with simple questions or to request a prescription refill. Either way, our goal is to keep you connected to the care you need in the simplest way possible.
What can be treated through telehealth?
Our telehealth visits are perfect for minor illnesses, allergies, medication management, mental health check-ins, and follow-ups. If you have a cough, rash, or sinus infection, we can often diagnose and treat you through a virtual visit. We also help manage chronic conditions by adjusting medications or giving quick advice between in-person checkups. However, we do not treat emergencies, severe infections, or complex wound care by telehealth. For life-threatening issues, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
How do I schedule a telehealth appointment?
Scheduling with Health at Home Consultants is simple. First, visit our online booking page and choose a time that works best for you. You’ll fill out a few details, then call our office at 402-440-5268 to confirm. We’ll accept the appointment, send you any forms to complete, and give you the link for your visit. Once everything is set, join the call from your phone or computer at your scheduled time, and one of our nurse practitioners will be ready to help.
How do I pay for telehealth?
We charge a flat $50 fee for a telehealth visit, and you don’t need insurance. After your appointment, you’ll get a secure payment link through Square. Pay by credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA card, all from the comfort of your home. If our provider decides your condition is something we can’t treat by telehealth, you won’t be charged the full amount. Our goal is to keep costs clear, simple, and fair.
What do I need to use telehealth?
You need three basic things: a phone or computer with a camera, a stable internet connection, and a quiet, well-lit space. It helps if you have headphones or a private room so you can talk openly about your health. Before your visit, test your device’s microphone and camera to make sure everything works. Our team is here to help if you have any trouble getting set up.
What should I know before my telehealth visit?
Make a short list of your symptoms, medications, and any questions you have. Find a calm spot where you won’t be interrupted. Have your photo ID ready in case we need to verify your identity. Remember, telehealth is best for common or minor issues. If you have severe pain or think it’s an emergency, please call 911 or head to the closest emergency room. What happens after my telehealth visit?
Once your appointment is done, we’ll send a prescription to your local pharmacy if needed. We may also schedule a follow-up appointment, either another telehealth visit or an in-home visit, if you need more care. You’ll receive a payment link to finalize your bill, and we’ll add notes to your medical record for future reference. If at any time your symptoms get worse, call us right away. We’re here to help you stay on the path to good health.
Is my telehealth visit private and secure?
Yes. Health at Home Consultants uses special technology that protects your information. We follow HIPAA rules, which means we keep your health details confidential. You can feel safe sharing personal concerns during your virtual visit.
How do you follow HIPAA rules with telehealth?
We only use trusted, secure platforms for our video calls and online messages. Your information is stored safely, and we never share it without your permission. Following HIPAA guidelines helps us protect your privacy at all times.
Will anyone else see or hear my virtual visit?
No. Only you and your nurse practitioner take part in your telehealth session. We won’t invite anyone else unless you ask us to. We want to make sure you’re comfortable and confident that your care stays between you and our team.
